When I ran across this amazing collection of handmade teaching aids by a young mother in the 1740's, I felt an immediate kinship with her. How many of us have created educational games, books or flashcards for our kids? And then it struck me--who saved all 438 pieces, passing them down and preserving them for 270 years? The lasting influence of the simple, loving acts of a creative mother...may we all leave such a legacy.

That is so awesome!
That is great...go homeschoolers!
Beautiful! Reminds me of the book I recently finished (and plan to post about soon): Homeschool: An American History by Milton Gaither.
Great stuff! I really am impressed at how long this stuff lasted.
